From the moment I arrived in Alamos, Sonora, 500 miles south of the Arizona border, I knew I would develop a series on life as I saw it in this charming, 18th century colonial, Mexican town in the foothills of the Sierra Madres. Here is a sampling of the pastel paintings done back home in my studio from the numerous sketches and photos I'd accumulated on site. For sizes and prices, email me from my home page. "SUNDAY AT THE ALAMEDA": On Sundays, locals gather on this tree-laden plaza for all-day recreation. I was attracted by the people relaxing here while business as usual was conducted across the cobblestone street in colorfully trimmed, whitewashed, adobe-brick buildings. (This painting garnered an award at a 2003 juried show in Santa Barbara, CA.)
